Published four times a year, the Journal of Computer Information Systems (ISSN: 0887-4417) is the forum for International Association of Computer Information Systems members and other information systems and business professionals to present their research and ideas. Each issue provides a wealth of timely and informative articles and research summaries. JCIS is indexed in Science Citation Index (SCI), Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-Expanded), Arts & Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI), Academic Search Premier (EBSCO), Proquest, ABI/INFORM Global,
and Wilson Humanities Index.

  • JCIS continues to be identified as an A-ranked journal in Information Systems by the Excellence in Research in Australia. The ARC administers the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) initiative, which assesses research quality within Australia’s higher education institutions. One indicator in higher education institutions everywhere is publication in discipline-specific tiered outlet rankings. JCIS was in the top 5% of journals (n = 160).
  • JCIS maintains a very rapid electronic submission, review and publication process. The turnaround time and quality of review comments ranks amongst the best in the field (average of 8 – 10 weeks from submission to a first decision).
  • JCIS acceptance rate is 8 – 9%. Over the past year, we have experienced a steady and impressive growth in submissions.
  • JCIS editorial board numbers around 150 professional academics from around the globe, ranging from long established senior scholars to the next generation of leading-edge researchers.
  • JCIS is an ISI-ranked journal (Thompson Reuters Scientific #8072 or print version). The 2010 Impact Factor ofJCIS is 0.822.  Additionally, JCIS is listed as a very popular IS journal in the Index of Information Systems Journals.
  • The H-Index (based on Harzing’s Publish or Perish software) of JCIS is 39. On average, cites per published paper = 8.49.

Manuscripts will be reviewed by the JCIS Screening Committee within 2 week from submission. The Editor-in-Chief will contact the corresponding author with news of whether or not the submission will be advanced to the first round of blind reviews (or is being rejected as not suitable for publication in the journal). Typically, the blind review process takes approximately eight to twelve weeks. The JCIS does not process any submission that does not comply with complete requirements of submission guidelines.

Contributors of articles accepted for publication will receive a complimentary copy of the issue in which their article appears.
